New Parish Show Gets Oakland Folks Off Their Feet and On the Dancefloor!

If you haven’t seen The New Up live yet, you simply don’t know what you’re missing. Oakland residents looking for an excuse to get off the wall and shake their asses were gladly obliged by The New Up at their show on Sunday night at The New Parish. The show included a birthday surprise for guitarist and singer Noah Reid, who clearly had no idea what was coming when the entire crowd of people began to sing happy birthday as a cake was shuttled up on stage. Showgoers got a great taste of some of the best songs from the new album, “Tiny Mirrors”, and had exclusive access to merchandise that you can’t buy online.

Portland natives The Slants – of Supreme Court fame for their name – also gave the crowd something to move to with their seething, tight, and aggresive indie sound. Patrons of the show got their money’s worth and a whole lot more, and if you missed it rest assured that you absolutely don’t want to miss the next time they come through your town! Check out their upcoming tour dates to here to see if they’re coming to a town near you.
